A Month of Birthday Fun

With Brynlee and James having birthdays just 4 days apart... and Brian working every weekend I thought I was being so smart by planning 1 BIG party on the 1 day  Brian had off. I had a vision of lots of games and yummy food... good weather and a fun time. Turns out nothing ever goes the way I plan. It was the perfect day for us but I guess that was not true for everyone else. We went to the park anyway and had a great time with those that came.

With the change of plans I made a cake for Brynlee and some cupcakes. Nothing too spectacular.

We sang happy birthday to Brynlee. I think its kind of a big deal to turn 1.
She was so unsure of it all

Just like the dainty girl she is she started out slow with her cupcake.
It was more about the frosting at this point

The other birthday boy enjoyed his cupcake

 Big brother too

After a while Brynlee finally picked up the cupcake with 2 hands

and she totally dug in. she didn't get much more messy than this  :)

While is wasn't the party I thought we would have it was still fun. really whenever cake is present it is a good time.

On James actual birthday I took the kids to Corbelly's (I already posted about this fun night)
We ran into some friends while we were there which made it even more fun!

The next weekend we had lots of family in town. We took advantage of having the cousins here to have some fun. I took the kids to incredible pizza for the afternoon. Spencer and James LOVE this place. And I got a crazy deal which made it even more fun.

The kids played laser tag and mini golf and lots of games. I didn't see them forever. James and I had a great time playing lots of games together.

After Incredible Pizza we came back and James finally got to open presents.

Nothing really goes as planned for me... I guess I just kind of go with flow. It has worked out. James is happy and loves telling people he is now 3. I am already thinking of some new family traditions for birthdays. Anybody have any good birthday traditions?

So cute! Sorry it didn't go as planned! I know we were part of that lack of it going smoothly, but we sure enjoyed having them the day before and having a mini party for them both! Hope you had tons of fun with all your family in town! xoxo
