Halloween

We were lucky enough to be in Canada this year for Halloween. Spencer was a fireman with his cousin Ian and James was a monkey. It's been a while since I have been in Canada for Halloween. I had forgotten how early it gets dark and how the cold just feels colder. that did not stop the boys from enjoying trick or treating. James caught on really fast and was really adorable. He would say "trick or treat" and stare at the people as they put the candy in his bucket. he was sure to say "thank you" then stare at them again. still not sure what he thought was going on but when we got back he had more candy then the other boys so maybe he knew something they didn't.

He was a cute monkey

This is how Brynlee spent the night... curled up. She was the cutest strawberry ever!!

Halloween is so fun with little kids. And I will be the first to admit the candy in Canada is way better ;) totally worth it!

seriously!!

She is a sweetie. I am trying just to slow down and enjoy her while she is so little. Best advice I ever got was that you can't spoil a newborn. So she gets lots of snuggle time with me, as long as the boys allow it.

Look Who is 2!

I feel like James was just born. I can't believe he is already 2. He is all of a sudden a big boy. He has been talking a lot and trying new words everyday. He is really cute and fun to have around. I love that he loves his bed. He has always been such a good sleeper. He gives great snuggles and is very independent.
People have always said that Spencer looks like me while James looks like Brian
This is a picture of my dad.... still think he is all Brian??

He plays really well by himself. He tends to always want what Spencer has... the joy of siblings

For his Birthday we got an Elmo cake. He loves Elmo
After we sang happy Birthday he started singing it over and over.
Opening presents

I don't know why my boys will not take good pictures. No matter what I do I can't get them both to look at the camera long enough to get a good picture. At least Brian is looking.

We were lucky that Grandma and Paka were here to help us celebrate. James heard my Mum call my Dad honey and that is what he now calls him. Its very cute.

He got a puppy that makes puppy sounds. He likes to feed it.

It was a small birthday. I am still adjusting to all the late night feedings and was a little too tired to do much more. But we weren't about to let the moment pass without a party. We love you James. We are so lucky to have you in our family.

Some pictures of the baby :)

James is adjusting well
Spencer was convinced that she would be able to tell him what her name was. This is him asking her. So adorable!!

Brynlee Clair

She was only 8 days overdue. We went in early to be induced and were hoping that just braking my water would get things going. This was not the case and I had to have pitocin to really get labor going. not my favorite drug. Around 4pm I was at a 6. She was born at 4:22pm. So when she was ready she really came fast.

a picture of her only a few min old.
She was 8 pounds 4 oz and 20 inches. She had bright eyes and has been awake a lot. She has also been eating well. I am hopefully that this is a sign of a good baby. wish us luck. more pictures to come.

Still Here

blankets... check. diapers.... check. pink clothes.... check. nursery done... check. all that seems to be missing is the baby. I was due on the 20th and now the ticker seems to be counting up, which kind of makes me laugh. I have been trying not to think about how over due I am. Really I am not terribly uncomfortable. We took the boys to Gardner Village today to see the witches. Here is a picture of my baby bump as requested by my sister.

James was unsure of all the witches at first. his face was a classic one of fear and intrigue. After a while we got him to actually sit next to one. Both he and Spencer were a little unsure. I love how James is poking her boob. It was a fun day. but still..... NO BABY!!

Nesting

For the past few weeks I have been busy rearranging our little apartment to make room for the new arrival. We have moved James in with Spencer which went better then expected. I have moved furniture around (OK so Brian did it) and finally got the nursery set up. It is a little strange to see some much pink. So today I finally get around to cleaning the bathrooms and Spencer comes up to me and says "mom is someone visiting?" I had to laugh. I guess I need to clean the bathrooms more often :)
