Halloween week

October is a fun month. I love the cooler weather and the fun color changes in the mountains. It is also a fun month for Halloween activities. Early in the month we love to go to Gardner village and look at all the witches. The boys were really into the scavenger hunt and trying to find every witch they could.
This is one of my favourite pictures. I love how James has snuggled right in.

Spencer has is the scavenger hunt list.

This is as close as Brynlee would get to any witch. She was not really a fan.

 Witchy poo.... a favourite.

Green witch with her frog. I believe she was new this year.

this is as close as I got to a picture of all 3 kids. Seriously Brynlee was not lovin the witches.

The week of Halloween we ended up doing lots of fun things. We went to the farm at thanksgiving point on what happened to be the same day as the barnyard boo. They had lots of fun games for the kids to try.

Brynlee loved the little old town they have to play in. I could not get her to stop moving long enough to take a picture.
as good as I could get.
The boys had a blast. And they are much better at holding still for pictures.
James and Spencer got to ride the ponys. I had a ticket for Brynlee too but as soon as I got close to the horse to put her on the saddle she freaked and clung extra tight to me. James got to ride twice.

We also ended up going to Boo and the Zoo. This year we went with our good friends. We didn't spend a lot of time looking at the animals, just running around getting candy. I thought it was going to be really cold so I had Brynlee wear the Eeyore costume instead of her Tinkerbell costume. but we went late enough in the day that the sun came out and it was a very pleasant day.

we did stop and watch a zoo keeper feed the ostrich. She was using a puppet with food in its mouth. It was really interesting. The kids were entertained!

For FHE this week we made these. Grandma Garry bought them for us when they came to visit us at the beginning of the month.
James was really proud of his creation.
 Spencer too.
Brynlee was really excited to get hers. Don't mind her hair. While we were busy decorating the marshmallow creatures she was busy with the spray bottle doing her own hair.

Yup, I think she liked it.

The kids had been so excited for Halloween and all that went with it. Between the ward trunk or treat and all these activities we already had lots of candy. There really was no need to go trick or treating. Don't worry, we did~ just added to the stash.
