Here he is... first day of school and ready to go!
I cannot believe that Spencer is old enough to be going to school. I still feel like he is so young but I am really loving watching him grow up. He was so excited for school. I took him and dropped him off with all the other proud parents (only I forgot to take my camera with me to the school). He got to play until the bell rang and then he lined up with everyone else and waved goodbye to me as they walked into class. I fought back the tears all the way to the car and then lost it. I cried all the way home. I don't even know why I cried, I am just as excited for him as he is for himself. maybe it is just the thought of him growing up. maybe it was the thought of having him away from me. either way we both survived the first day.
When he got home he was so excited to tell me how they got to play at the park lots. I think it is his favorite part. I asked him if he made some new friends and he told me that he was going to wait until the next day to choose. The very next day he said he wanted to take the bus home. I was way more nervous then he was. What if he didn't make it home?! what if he was lost?! I worried until I saw his smiling face step off the bus. He even asked to take the bus TO school the next day. so just like that.... he takes the bus to school every morning and home every afternoon. He is so big! James misses him while he is gone. and Brynlee gets so excited when she sees him come home.
Spencer is such a good kid. He is so kind to others and so happy. I feel so lucky to be his mom. He tells me and Brian all the time that he will miss us while he is at school and that he loves us. He still likes to snuggle and gives the best kisses. He still hides behind the couch when a movie has a scary or intense part. I hope he doesn't grow up much faster then this... I love you Spencer. I hope you have a great first year at school.
