This time of year is perfect for heading to the mountains to go hiking. It's not too cold and not too hot but most of all the leaves are changing color and it is beautiful. Brian got online to find us an easy hike that the kids could do. He found Cecret Lake. Brian's brother JT came with us.
Here we are at the top
Brynlee was happy and seemed to really enjoy herself.
The boys really love being with daddy. We savor the moments he is around.
Uncle JT was great too.
As for this being an easy hike.... umm not so much. half way into it we had to ditch the chariot and the kids had to walk. This would be no big deal except it got kind of steep and very rocky. I think both Spencer and James slipped a few times. They were great about it! They keep asking when we can go hiking again.
We went again to a path around a lake at the top of big cottownwood canyon. This one was easy. James made friends with an older couple walking behind us. He held their hands and asked them lots of questions. We stopped and got to feed some ducks, including some baby ducks. That was a highlight for sure. We are hoping to get up the canyons a few more times before the snow comes. We would really like to go and do a wiener roast one of these times. We feel so lucky to live so close to these beautiful mountains. On both of these hikes it was so quiet and peaceful. We had the boys sit still and just listen to how quiet and nice it was. Of course that didn't last long but it was nice for a little while. Now that the leaves are changing it is the perfect time to get out and go again. Can't wait!
