I have always wanted to be a runner. ok so maybe not ALWAYS... but ever since I started having kids. I figured it was a good way to get rid of baby weight... obviously the whole running thing never really took off. I have baby weight left over from all 3 babies (and my oldest is 5). I am more of a sprinter. I did the sprints in Jr high and high school track. I loved to sprint and I was fast. So now I am having to shift my train of thought from "get there fast" to "slow and steady" and I think I have finally found the help I need to get it done.
C25K - couch to 5K. Its a running program that helps you go from nothing to 5K in 9 weeks. just what I need. And I found the perfect app for my ipod to help me along the way. Today was week 1 day 1. It felt great. I am very excited and looking forward to finally being able to run. wish me luck. In fact help me stay on top of it and feel free to ask me about it from time to time. a little accountability never hurt anyone ;) or better yet ... anyone want to do a 5K with me in 9 weeks??

Good luck! I personally think runners are insane, I mean really, why torture yourself? But then again, I am still carrying my baby weight and my baby will be 3 on Friday. I go from my couch to 5 feet away many times a day, does that count? David keeps trying to get me to run with him, but seeing as he is training to qualify for Boston and I can't run 1/2 a mile without stopping, I am nowhere near his league. I would be interested in what your program requires of you.

Good for you!! That's totally awesome!!! For most of my life I would have about one week a year when I'd decide that I'd want to run, and of course it would fizzle out before that week was up. In the last year I have finally gotten a good program and some friends to run with and now I"m hooked! So I know that if I can do it you can too!
I'm in! Let me know what day you are on again, and I will just jump in from there so that we are on the same schedule. Lets go run a 5K!
