Christmas Eve

We decided we wanted to have a low key Christmas eve. We went to Brian's brothers house in the morning for a few hours to do Christmas presents with cousins and grandparents. The kids enjoyed being with cousins. James had a thing about the bows. He insisted they be stuck to his head.

The adults enjoyed just sitting, talking and of course eating. I am just glad JT didn't post the picture of me actually eating :)
We headed home to make cookies for Santa. The boys loved their new aprons from Grandma
The boys had a blast decorating them. OK so Spencer decorated them and James just ate the frosting

We all opened 1 present
Of course they were Christmas PJs
We then read the Nativity and talked about why we celebrate Christmas. The kids went to bed and Brian and I stayed up and played games. It was small and quiet but that is what we wanted. I admit that I missed my family and wished we could have been with them. But this Christmas most of my family was else where. My parents were in Hawaii with my sister and her family. My other sister was in St George with her family and everyone else was braving the cold in Canada. how cold? It was -43 degrees in Edmonton one day (without windchill) it was the second coldest place on earth that day. someone please remind me of this when I talk about moving back :)
