2 of Spencers cousins playing in the mud
We had a family reunion of sorts. we had a BBQ at the lake. The boys (and yes there are a lot of boys) played and played (I put my camera away when my brother and sister took out their nice cameras. I need to get pictures from them. but here are the few that I took.
James and Ian

The Family all visiting
I had so much fun with my family. we got to go to the wave pool. Spencer and James thought that was great. and then we had a games night with some great stories told. lots of fun memories and laughs.
I took Clair to the stampede. We were hoping to go see the hypnotist (he has been at the stampede for years and I love his show) but of course we went on the one day that he has off. But that is ok, we made up for with the mini doughnuts (oh YUM) and a ride on my favorite ride... the zipper. we had a fun night together with lots of laughs (mostly at the fabulous people the stampede attracts... seriously)
Spencer and Joe
Spencer was in heaven. We stayed with my sister Toni who lives on a huge acreage. Joes job was to mow the lawn and of course Spencer had to help. I think Joe even let Spence drive for a bit. Cousin Ethan was over one day and Aunt Amanda taught Spencer how to ride Ethans quad. Spencer LOVED IT and was pretty sure he was pro after just a few times around. Boys and their toys.
James enjoyed jumping on the trampoline with anyone who would take him. Including a bunch of guys that Clair and Cale had over. He also loved checking on the chickens. My boys couldn't wait for egg day. Every Friday my sisters family gets to keep the eggs laid by these chicken on the property. Spencer and James would ask everyday if it was chicken day.
The weather was beautiful! We spent lots of time at the lake which James and Spencer thought was great. When Brian finally joined us at the end of our trip we spent a whole day at the lake. We would jump in and swim to the floating dock. Spencer and Ian were brave enough to do it with us. We even got to go around the lake in a peddle boat and Bri and I did a round on the kayak. Spencer and James were happy to play in the sand and the temperature of the water didn't deter them and all from swimming. It was so wonderful.
One weekend we got to take a trip to Waterton. I wish I took more pictures but again I think someone else had their camera. We tried skipping rocks, ate lots of ice cream and saw lots of dear. As we were leaving the park, Ian spotted 3 bears crossing the lake. We turned around just in time to catch a glimpse of a momma bear and her 2 cubs. It was really neat. We stayed in Lethbridge and took advantage of the hotel pool and its awesome slide. Spencer has showed no fear this summer of the pool and watersides. it was great. The next day we were up early to cheer on Toni in a triathlon. She came in second which is amazing. She is a total inspiration to me.
I took advantage of the cooler mornings to go running. I have decided that I like running in cooler weather so much better. I am up to running an hour non stop which I am quite proud of. I can't wait for that cooler morning weather to makes its way south!
We came home and have been busy ever since. We are trying to make the most out of the last week of summer before Spencer starts his first year at school. yikes.... is he that old already?!
