and then silence

It was a strange Friday night. Brian took Spencer to a father and sons overnight camp and I was left at home with James. We all had dinner together and then the boys were gone. The silence was deafening. It was so strange. I found myself staring at James and with big grin. James went to bed at 7 and I had the whole night to myself. It was fantastic. I did get a few phone calls from a very excited boy and a moose and a tent and a fire, but over all it was just me and my thoughts. So what did I do all night you may ask... I cleaned and I ironed :) nothing too fabulous but I found it very relaxing. I was sure that the boys wouldn't be back until lunch time but at 8am Brian called to say the were on their way home. He said Spencer was done... I guess they didn't really sleep well. It was cold and Spencer kept wiggling out of his sleeping bag and Brian spent the night trying to share his sleeping bag. Anyone who has tried to sleep next to a toddler knows that it is not easy.

Saturday we got to spend sometime at my sister's pool. They were in Vernal Utah for her Triathlon. Toni came in first for her age group (one of the most competitive age groups) and 4th over all. Very awesome. I then got to spend my alone time with Spencer. We went to "Horton Hears a Who" at the dollar theatre. So it was an early night Saturday as we were all just a little tired.

Sunday we had a combined lesson on emergency preparedness... now I am scoring the Internet for information on 72 hour kits. People had some great tips. Like sending your insurance information to a out of state relative to keep. and having lots of smaller bills to use cause the banks probably will not be working for a while. It was a great lesson. I am inspired and a little scared. Did you know if there was a major shift in the ground under the great salt lake there would be a major flood. All very interesting stuff.

And now for a computer update... we got our old computer back and it works just fine. That means our pictures are saved. YEAH!! now I still need to figure out how to get them off the thing. As for our new computer... I have yet to figure out how to transfer my pictures from my camera onto the computer.... but I will post them as soon as I get that figured out.

I had to laugh by myself here, because when my boys went on a Fathers and Sons, I guess the same scenario happened with them as well. Us girls had a blast! And then slept in our own beds. I think we got the better deal. ;)

Oh and YAY! about your pictures being removable from you old 'puter!!!
