On Sunday I was asked to help with a young woman's lesson. I was asked to come in and share the nativity from Mary's perspective. When I was first asked I thought it would be interesting to think of how that night would have been for Mary. I spent a lot of time just thinking about her and her feelings the night her baby was born. I would hold Brynlee and imagine. It turned out to be rather difficult for me and extremely intimidating to be Mary. Here I was trying to think as though I was the mother of the Savior. I think Mary was very tender hearted and meek. She must have had so many thoughts about her son and the life he would have on earth. The scriptures only say that she pondered these things in her heart. What a wonder woman she must be.

The whole idea behind the lesson was to get the girls to remember the true meaning of Christmas. I think it really helped me to know and remember the true meaning of Christmas. So often Christmas becomes so commercialized. People don't even bother to write out CHRISTMAS they just put xmas. Its sad really. He is the REASON for the SEASON.

This year Brian and I have turned down offers from family to spend Christmas at their homes because we really wanted to start our own family traditions and to really focus on the Savior. The boys are still young and I want them to understand the Nativity and why we celebrate Christmas. I hope we can do this special time of year justice.

So this year I wish you all a Merry Christmas. and hope that you have the love of the Savior in your home all year round!
